Irv Lee's Rust Remover For Pilots

Irv Lee's "get fit - stay fit workout" for the fixed wing pilot.

Most PPLs do not fly often enough to keep their skills sharp. If you are out of currency or you do not feel safe the answer is easy – fly with a qualified flight instructor.

But, if you have not flown for a little while and… your flight planning is a bit muddled, your pre-flight checks are a little hesitant, ATC seems to talk too fast, the aircraft gets ahead of you, your circuits are inaccurate and your landing is a bit rough… you are ‘rusty' and the new Irv Lee's Rust Remover for Pilots will help scrape it off !

Irv Lee's Rust Remover for Pilots is not a flight training programme. We know you can fly already. It is a ‘get-fit-stay-fit' workout for the ‘rusty' pilot which addresses the common faults that Irv Lee finds in almost every pilot he flies with. It allows you to re-visit all those situations with a pre-flight & flying workout routine before you go near your aircraft again. Rust Remover for Pilots will help you get back ‘on-top-of-it'.

Included in the menu driven DVD are:

  • Pilot – are you Fit to Fly?
  • Pre-flight navigation planning.
  • Simple GPS hints to aid visual navigation.
  • Aircraft serviceability.
  • Pre-flight checks & fuelling.
  • Use of mnemonic checklists.
  • Take-off performance & climb-out.
  • Trimming for the climb & cruise.
  • Standard & steep turns.
  • Map reading tips to avoid controlled airspace infringements.
  • The overhead join & circuit.
  • Setting up an approach to land.
  • The correct way to touch down.
  • The aborted landing & go-around
  • The overhead glide approach without power.

Rust Remover for Pilots is 45 minutes of useful advice, tips and reminders of good practice filmed on the ground, in the aircraft and air-to-air exactly as you would experience it as the pilot who is perhaps not quite ‘in command', until you have watched the DVD before ‘committing aviation' once more.

Practical Risk Management for Weather

How to make the right weather decisions quickly and with confidence.
Weather-related accidents cause, by far, the highest level of fatalities in general aviation. That's because weather flying, VFR or IFR, places the greatest demands on a pilot. More than any other risk factor in flight, changing weather frequently requires pilots to alter their plans. And weather especially requires proactive, rather than reactive, risk management.

Weather Decisions Aren't Easy
Weather is unforgiving. It can kill you and the people you love. And, the sad ... truly tragic fact is that every weather-related accident could have been avoided ... every single one!
If you're like most pilots, weather decisions are not always easy. Should I go? ... What if the weather changes? ... How will I know if the weather changes? ... What are the risks? ... are common questions that many pilots have difficulty answering.

You'll Learn How To Manage Weather Risks!
This course, even though it is titled Practical Risk Management For Weather, it is not about the weather itself. You already know about the weather.
What this course is about ... is managing the risks associated with weather and its constantly changing reality. It's about understanding your options ... and recognizing them quickly so you can make the right decisions, in a timely manner.
Using the Practical Risk Management CARE and PAVE checklists, youll learn techniques for making specific weather decisions so you can plan and fly with confidence.

  • Day versus night weather flying
  • What role your aircraft performance plays in your weather decisions
  • Strategies for getting and interpreting weather information
  • Terrain and weather considerations
  • Weather-related workload reduction strategies
  • What radar means to your weather planning
  • Weather changes: how to anticipate them and what they mean
  • Weather consequences beyond the obvious
  • Choosing new alternatives
  • Plus hundreds of never before published weather specific tips

Become Proactive About Weather Risk Management
When you complete Practical Risk Management For Weather, you'll make weather decisions with greater confidence.
