  • Description

Working on and around an aircraft can be exciting, challenging and dangerous. That is where this module begins is with the aspects of safe working practices including precautions to take when working with electricity, gases especially oxygen, oils and chemicals. In a workshop or in a busy line maintenance environment, care must be taken for safety which includes selection of the correct tools and equipment relevant to the given task and how to use and maintain these tools and other equipment efficiently and safely. A deeper instruction of diagrams is given in addition to various drawings and other standards. Making, installing and inspecting various types of individual components such as sheet metal, control cables and hoses is also a requirement covered in this module. An initial introduction into welding, soldering and bonding is made for higher level qualifications. Students will also be required to learn aircraft weight and balance procedures and documentation. Aircraft handling and storage are also major topics in addition to normal and abnormal maintenance events and procedures including parts and components control and storage.
